Welcome! My name is Carolyn Martinez and I will be your child’s pre-school teacher.  This is my eigth year teaching at Valmonte Early Learning Academy.  I also am the Director of the VELA program.  I am very excited to be a part of this wonderful team.  I was teacher/director for 2 years at MELA.  I have worked in the field of early childhood education for 17 years.   I received my BA degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California at Irvine.  I also received a MA degree from Loyola Marymount University.

I am looking forward to watching your children grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively this year.  I am excited to see your children come in on the first day of school, ready for preschool.

Parent participation is encouraged in K-15.  Please sign-up on Sign-Up genius to volunteer to assist with our weekly cooking projects and Mystery Reader spots. While we are excited about parent participation, please make sure to ask in advance if you would like to spend time in the classroom.  I encourage you to participate in your child’s classroom this year.

    Communication between parent and teacher will help to foster your child’s learning experiences.
