Preschool Site Supervisor - Carolyn Martinez

Welcome! My name is Carolyn Martinez  I am the Director of the VELA program. Ihave been the Director of Valmonte Early Learning Academy for 19 years.  Prior to working at VELA, I was the Director and 4 year old teacher at MELA for  2 years. I am going into my 21 year at PVPUSD.  I have worked in the field of early childhood education for 27 years.   I received my BA degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California at Irvine.  I also received a MA degree in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University.

I am looking forward to watching your children grow physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively this year.  I am excited to see your children come in on the first day of school, ready for preschool.

Parent participation is encouraged at VELA.  While we are excited about parent participation, please make sure to ask in advance if you would like to spend time in the classroom.  I encourage you to participate in your child’s classroom this year.

    Communication between parent and teacher will help to foster your child’s learning experiences. It is important that we work together to make this year a super experience for your child.  Please feel free to make an appointment to speak to me, if you have any questions throughout the year.
